• Southern Pilot Training Academy has a fleet of Thorp T211 and / Cessna - 152 / Cessna - 172R. Going to induct two advanced G1000 Glass Cockpit Garmin Equipped Cessna 172.
• Cessna 152 - basic two seater VFR/ IFR equipped trainer aircraft.
• Cessna 172 R Skyhawk - four seater IFR trainer
• Thorp T211 - a basic two seater aircraft with modern flying instruments.

LOCATION
SPTA is located at Salem Airport, Salem which is centrally located and distance is about 230km from bangalore, 350km from Chennai and 165km from Coimbatore on National Highway. Salem is blessed with excellent weather all through the year which provides the perfect environment for uninterrupted flying training.

Since SPTA is loacted in a tower - controlled airport, trainees routinely communicate with the ATC system which gives them invaluable experience.

MAINTENANCE DIVISION
An exclusive team of DGCA licenced engineers (AMEs) & qualified technicians are retained
to maintain the aircraft which meets the prescribed DGCA standards. 0ur Flight safety Cell
ensures the highest safety standards.

COMPUTER LAB
SPTA has a well furnished and fully air conditioned computer laboratory equipped with
network System hosting Microsoft Flight Simulator and software for anytime learning of various subiects.

WELL EQUIPPED AVIATION LIBRARY
Students will also have access to various books on flying and ground training from the
Academy library.

SIMULATOR TRAINING
Apart from the Flying Aircrafts SPTA is having Single & Twin Engine elite simulator for training purpose.
